SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI – September 27, 2017 Engineering Software Research & Development, Inc. (ESRD) recently participated in two Aerospace & Defense industry workshops in North America, both intended to advance numerical simulation technology for the prediction and extension of airframe component life. AFGROW Workshop 2017 Dr. Ricardo Actis, ESRD, Inc. President and CEO, presented a […]
This year, Aerospace Simulation Engineering is one of the “Big Issues” promoted by NAFEMS Americas. Because ESRD is hyper-focused on Aerospace & Defense, Numerical Simulation, Simulation Governance, and Verification and Validation, we will be co-sponsoring a NAFEMS Americas event dedicated to exploring this challenge. From the NAFEMS Americas website: Located at the NIAR training facility in […]
We recently hosted a 90-minute webinar titled “Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT) Analysis Best Practices”. Click here to view the recording of the webinar. In this webinar, we presented best practices and case studies designed to help damage tolerance, fracture mechanics and aircraft sustainment engineers explore new DaDT applications and gain confidence in their results. We […]

“A screening of existent commercial and non-commercial tools was carried out in respect to their fracture mechanics capabilities, their design abilities, implementation as well as their complexity. Although, there are many software possibilities, only those within the reach of the author were evaluated. This resulted in the selection of the commercial tool StressCheck®. The assessment of crack propagation on compact tension and two stringer specimens governed by the Paris and Forman regimes was satisfactory compared with experimental results using the material data from simple standard specimens.”
