  • StressCheck’s FEA technology implementation enabling modeling of very thin domains, including adhesive layers with 3D-solid elements.
  • Best practices and guidelines for modeling and analyzing 3D bonded repair doubler variations (e.g. racetrack/rectangular, circular/elliptical, tapered, metallic, ply-by-ply, homogenized, etc.) for circular cutouts and grindouts.
  • Performing “what if?” logic-driven studies of a digital 3D bonded repair handbook solution via StressCheck API-powered Engineering Simulation App, in which user-defined input data is passed from Python or Excel VBA to StressCheck Professional to perform scripted “on-the-fly” model adjustments and repair-oriented computations.

Application Brief: Detailed Analysis of Bonded Repairs https://www.esrd.com/resource-library/product/application-brief-detailed-analysis-of-bonded-repairs/ Tue, 22 Nov 2022 14:48:26 +0000 https://www.esrd.com/?post_type=product&p=26453 Aircraft are commonly being flown well past their original expected service life, and the value derived from improving the productivity and reliability of DaDT analysis functions to support the inspection, maintenance, repair, and life-extension of today’s aerostructures is substantial. StressCheck's implementation of numerical simulation is designed to support solution verification, an essential technical requirement of Simulation Governance. The implementation makes it possible to encapsulate complexity, improve productivity, contain costs, and ensure the reliability of results for the expert simulation analyst as well as the non-FEA expert DaDT engineer.]]>

StressCheck Tutorial: Assigning Laminate Orthotropic Materials https://www.esrd.com/resource-library/product/stresscheck-tutorial-assigning-laminate-orthotropic-materials/ Thu, 01 Oct 2020 03:02:47 +0000 https://esrd.com/?post_type=product&p=16771 Abstract: Assignment of laminate orthotropic materials to hand meshed elements using Type: Lamina and Type: Laminate-Stack.
  • If “Lamina” is selected, the user may utilize the “Angle” field to supply ply orientation values. These values may be the ply angle in degrees, a user defined parameter with the value of the ply angle in degrees, or a ply sequence for sub-laminates (e.g. "0/90/0/90/0).
  • If “Laminate-Stack” is selected, the user may assign a laminate stack definition to an element or set of elements using "Ply" (ply-by-ply discretization), "Lump" (homogenized sub-laminate) or a combination of both.
