Views Toolbar Overview
Introduction
The View > Toolbars > Views Toolbar provides icons for accessing all the available view perspectives and other display manipulation operations. Below are brief descriptions of commonly used Views Toolbar icons (Figure 1):
- You may select a predefined view of your model by clicking the down arrow in the View Selector icon (Figure 2) and then selecting a list option.
- Predefined list options include Front (+Z), Back (-Z), Top (Y+), Bottom (Y-), Left (X+), Right (X-), Isometric and Previous.
- The Isometric view is a 3D view with a 45 degree rotation about the x-axis and a -35 degree rotation about the y-axis.
- Previous will set the model display to the previously visited view.
- You may fit all displayed object into the screen by selecting the Center Model icon, while using the Center Visible Elements icon will center the only the elements displayed on the screen independently of other objects being displayed.
- Icons to change the right mouse button + drag behavior (Rotate, Center Rotation, Translate, Zoom, Box Zoom) are available.
- Refer to Dynamic Display Operations Overview for details on model rotation, translation, zoom and box zoom.
- Clicking the Camera/Lighting icon will produce the Camera/Lighting pane.
- The Camera/Lighting pane contains controls for incrementally rotating, translating and zooming the model view, as well as setting the light source balance and orientation (azimuth/inclination).
- For more detail, refer to the Camera/Lighting section of Display Menu Overview.
- You may store a particular view of your model, and then restore the model to this precise view at a later time using the Save View and Show Saved View icons, respectively.
- By clicking directly on the Save View icon, the current view is saved as the default view. If the model is then saved, this will be the view that appears whenever you load the model into StressCheck.
- The default view is restored when you click the Show Saved View icon.
- The Saved Views dialog, accessible by clicking “Edit” under the Save View down arrow, allows for model views to be stored by name with or without automatically centering the model (Figure 3).
- Saved View names can then be selected from the Show Saved View list (Figure 4).
- You may select a user-defined or the default Window Layout using the Window Layout icon.
- For more information on defining window layouts, refer to the Window Layout section of View Menu Overview.
